Where are your pastas made?

When our Founder, Joe, was developing the brand, he searched the globe to find the best places to source our raw materials and manufacture our products. Our rice noodles are produced in Thailand. The chickpea and lentil (pulse) pastas are produced in Italy and the bean pastas are made in China. At Explore Cuisine we want to make sure your expectations of high quality are met, all our factories are dedicated and certified organic and gluten free facilities.

What are Soy Beans?

Soybeans (Glycine max) are a species of legume native to East Asia. Soybeans are a great source of protein and they produce significantly more protein per acre than most other uses of land. We use several types of organic soybeans to give the finest texture to our great tasting bean pastas.

What type of Black Bean do we use in our pastas?

There are mainly two types of black beans: one used in Asian Cuisine and one used in Latin American Cuisine. The black beans which we use in our products, Black Bean Spaghetti and Black Bean & Sesame Fettuccine, are part of the Glycine max (soybean) legume family native to East Asia and are known for their high protein, high fiber, low carbohydrate nutritional qualities . The common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) especially popular in Latin American cuisine, is called the black turtle bean. The black turtle bean has a dense, meaty texture, which makes it popular in vegetarian dishes, such as frijoles negros and the Mexican-American black bean burrito. Black Turtle bean has half the protein and double the carbohydrate of Black Soya bean and is not commonly used to make noodles or pasta.

What Allergens are in your pastas?

How long does it take to cook bean pasta? Can you reheat it?

Depending on the type of pasta some will cook within 4-6 minutes while others may take up to 12 minutes. The pasta can be kept warm in the pan, reheated or served cold and can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Do I need to boil the lasagne noodles first?

No! they are no boil noodles. Just make sure to put plenty of sauce on the bottom and top and all layers in between.

Will my family like the taste?

We hope so! At Explore Cuisine we have taken the time to find the perfect formula to give you the perfect taste and texture similar to regular pasta with the benefits of plant-based ingredients

What is the serving size for the rice noodles?

Our noodles come in portion controlled nests making preparation easy and convenient.

Why is there foam when cooking your pasta?

As all Explore Cuisine products are made from natural plant-based ingredients, it is normal that the pasta cooks differently to regular pasta. Some suggestions to reduce the foam are to add more water to pot and a splash of olive oil and / or salt can also help
